January 2014 Freshwater POTM Contest

January 2014 Freshwater Picture of the Month Contest
-Hosted by Rak9378

CONTEST THEME "Colorful Fish"

Please post your photo for the January 2014 Freshwater POTM contest.

Happy New Year everyone! This month's theme is colorful fish. Here is your chance to prove that you don't need a saltwater tank to have pretty and colorful fish!

Photos must be uploaded to your gallery and the bbcode link posted in the thread. A brief description of your photo may be included.

One photo per member per month allowed, and the photo MUST be taken by you.

I will select the winner of the contest based on the quality of the photograph and how closely it relates to the theme this month . The winner will copy and paste this section to a new thread, where they will decide the theme of next months contest. Submissions will be accepted until the last day of the month. The winner will be announced on the first day of the next month. The new contest thread should be created no later than the 3rd day of the new month. I will send a PM to the winner, letting them know that they have won, along with a post in this thread. I will also send a PM to an admin or moderator, so that they can add the POTM Badge to your account. Good luck!

Again - if you don't follow the rules, specifically regarding submitting your photo, your post will be deleted. Also, please refrain from discussion in this thread. If you have a question, feel free to PM a mod or admin.

Reagan is my Double Tail Halfmoon Plakat. He has a golden body, dark red fins with a white trim, a purple/red face, and a blue shine to his body under the light

Folks there have been a lot of questions about the requirement to post photos in an album vs an attachment. There is a reason for this - winning POTM entries are posted on a rotating basis in our right column as a way to feature winners. Attachments can not be displayed as such.

It isn't to exclude app only users or because we are jerks or anything else .

I understand this means some of you can't enter and that is unfortunate. However we have run our contests with this rule for years now and sometimes rules, life, etc isn't fair. If it is really important to you and you don't have access at home, email the photo to yourself, go to a library, and use a pc to upload to an album. Unfortunately even from a mobile browser it won't work. It has to be a full web browser.

If anyone has any questions, comments, complaints, etc. PM them to me. Please do not post in the thread. Thanks, and good luck to the entrants.

My betta. He was an "adoption" from petco. Someone had brought him in earlier that day, and he was put in one of the aquariums. When i found him, he was stuck to a filter intake Now he is doing very well

My Xenotilapia Ochrogenys Ndole Bay Male. He's Spawning with His Female Partner. He's Showing Off and She has a mouthful of eggs. Caught them in the act and snapped some shots during the ritual.

Your post was removed because it was posted twice. The post above, which you edited to ask why your other post was removed, contained your qualified entry photo and as such was left in place, while the other duplicate post of the photo was removed.

Last warning in this thread, please do not respond, ask questions, etc. in this thread. If there are issues, if anyone needs help posting, or if there are questions, please pm a staff member. This thread is a contest thread just for posting contest entries, and entries must conform with the contest rules as laid out by the OP. There have been 40 posts removed in this thread, and this is the 4th/last public announcement regarding this.
