pond? because my pond is full of algae. and i was hoping i could use algae for the betterment of a fish.

so yeah...
 
Yeah, a fair amount of folks have kept various algae eaters and/or plecos in a pond, BUT, you MUST get it back out before the temps drop in the late sumer/early fall (that obviously depends on your climate).

I'd reccommend using barley straw or another natural solution to rid your pond of algae instead of using a pleco or algae eater.
 
barley straw?... dunno wut that is. ill have to bring my goldfish in before the winter because my pond isnt big enough. 100G. so i was also wondering will it do okay if i take it out there and bring it in with all my goldfish?
 
another way is to plant your pond. once the plants take off, they should absorb the nurtients and prevent algae growth. Not sure if you already have it planted...
 
yeah. i have 3-4 elephant thingy's 1 lilly 1 water iris and one big thingamagiggy
