Hello,

I have a Marineland ML90609 Portrait Aquarium Kit, 5-Gallon that I am planning to set up and cycle soon. Once it's all ready I was planning to make it a species tank and stock it with scarlet badis. I want to only purchase males as they are the ones that have the beautiful blue and red color, but I heard that they can become aggressive towards one another if they don't have enough room to establish their own territory. Is it possible to have a male only scarlet badis 5 gallon tank? If so how many can I put in there?

Thank you.

The badis is a cool fish, unfortunately they typically require live food, so you have to be willing to grow/supply that for them. I've read that some are able to slowly get them to convert, but it is not always a given.
