Spot on my Goldfish's Gill?

Today I noticed a white spot on my fancy goldfish's gill. It was never there before so I find it strange. Is there anything wrong with him?

Hard to tell from the pictures. If it looks smooth and shiny like the rest of the Gill plate it could just be part of a pigment change. Goldfish can change their colors quite a bit.

If it looks like a hole you might have a problem, likewise if it looks fuzzy like a fungus.
 
Check out Lymphocystis it might just be popping through. Aka Cauliflower Disease. In and of itself is not deadly, but can grow and impair internal organs, function.
