I have a 40-gallon tank I just started about a week ago, the sellers of my 2 axolotls ( i got yesterday) gave me some water from their tank to add to the tank to help the process, I also added quick start and a pure beneficial bacteria and enzymes ball. I don't feel comfortable adding ammonia to the water so I've been putting a bit of their tub water in the tank after I do their daily water change. do you think I'm doing everything ok? the strip tests say everything is within the reasonable amount but to be honest they are really hard to read for me.
