Hello- I'm new to this group and I would sure like some advice here.
Can I put some tadpoles in my 20 gallon tank that has large guppies, mystery snails and bamboo shrimp?
:thanks:
Ericio

Hi Ericio,

What species of tadpoles are they? Guppies will eat small tadpoles. If the tadpoles are African Clawed Frogs (not dwarf frogs), they will eventually eat the guppies. I wouldn’t put tadpoles in with guppies unless they’re in a breeder basket and can grow to proper size there.

Tadpoles have a massive bio load and are not suitable for an aquarium with fish in it. They need nearly constant access to greens/biofilm for nutrition and that can cause really poor water quality. I would not recommend mixing tadpoles and fish.
