Western Painted Turtle? Please Help ID.

I was convinced 100% that my turtle is a western painted turtle- male. My husband doesn't think he is though. Can someone please hurry and verify this species and sub-species for me?!?! Please. We have only had him four days and I need help identifying him. Is he a western painted turtle that I have done so much research on before getting and is he a male?

Would 155 gallon tank be suitable for two painted turtles? And if so what kind of filter should I put in?

155 would work but I would always go bigger
