build a stand out of 2x4s and skin it so it looks nice on the outside, and build it so that you can house a sump inside. stand should cost lie 150 bucks and all the materials you can get from a local hardware store
well then i guess a sunp is out of the question. get a larger canister or two to clean, i'd fill one with normal chemical and mechanical filtration and fill the second with live rock rubble, and look into a HOB refugium to place a deep sand bed and some chaeto micro algea to help suck out soem of the nitrates that float around in the water
you said the stand is 1' x 1', is it 6' long without dividers?.You could get a custom made shallow sump which is say 6"H x 10"W x 60"L,as long as the return pump section is quite long I think you may get away with it,Just a thought!!
