Hey guys, looking to start my journey to saltwater. I have 2 tanks, a 60g high and a 40 breeder. The 40 breeder was used as a reptile tank for 8 years for my old bearded dragon. I’m hesitant to use this because of the silicone degrading over time with the heat lamps and because it’s glass. I also have a 60g high that measures roughly 48Lx12.5Wx24H. (Measured it quick when walking out the door). Due to where the tank is in my house, the 60g would be best,, Even though I’d prefer a cube. Is the 60g ok to start with?

Whatever sized tank you are able to start with is the best size. In the hobby, bigger is better in terms of stability simply because of dilution. I would just want to make sure I can reach the bottom of the tank without getting your shirt sleeves wet or figure out how you want to deal with a tall tank.
