Anyone keep any kelp?

Anyone grow this, either in a sump/fuge or their main tank? Can't seem to find too many accounts on the web. Would a Marineland DB LED fixture be enough to keep kelp going in a tank that is 16" deep?

You could probably keep it all under a 6500 bulb. I would watch it just because of its fast growth and that if under 24 hour lighting it will go sexual.

No, it must not be lit constantly. The 24 hour lighting will make it go sexual. I would keep it in a fuge with the opposite lighting as your display tank. I have my fuge lighting on from 7pm-3am.

Oh alright I misread. I am toying with the idea of putting some in my display, or some other form of macroalgae.
