Can the fw version be used in sw with the appropriate color card? Mainly for nitrite and nitrate.

Yes it can, the colors won't match up exactly though.

I have hex codes. I bought individual kits because I thought the master kit was too expensive, and the individual tests all come with both salt and freshwater cards. Nitrites are the same for both.
