Are the LED your best light for reefs? Is so what type of LEDS are
 
Well...that all depends what you are trying to accomplish. For a FOWLR setup you can have whatever lighting your heart desires.
For soft coral, 2-4 bulb T5HO units will suffice. For LPS, depending on tank depth, you can go from 4 bulb T5HO to MH or LED. For SPS you'd need 6-8 bulb T5HO, MH, or LED. In terms of LEDs, you are looking for ones that are 2-3 watts to support coral growth if I remember correctly.
