Ok, I really really want to start a saltwater tank! Ice been doing a lot of research, and have started a journal, though I don't even have a tank yet. One question I have is about sand. I have read different things about this topic.

I live really close to a beach with beautiful white sand. I l know it is silly and is just a visual thing, but I think it would be so neat to have sand from my beach. I know that it could be polluted because of the public, but if I bleached it and boiled it and rinsed it really good, wouldn't that kill any parasites or bad stuff that would be in it? I am just curious. If not, I'll probably go with play sand or pool filter sand, but I hope I can use my beach sand.

Yes I don't see a problem. I live by the ocean and use ocean water never used anything else. You know your area better then anyone if it's clean or not.
