Beginner tank size
I am getting into
SW
. Is a 160 gallon(72"x24"x24") tank with a 40 gallon breeder for my sump too big for my first tank? I want to have both corals and fish in the tank. I want mainly soft corals but might get 1 or 2 hard corals.

That is a great size. Larger tanks have a larger water column and this can water down many issues.

72x24x24 is a 180 gallon tank just to make sure you know.
