brown algae

So my bc29 has been cycling for about two weeks now. I'm noticed it started going brownish algae on the rocks and sand. Is this normal??

Those are diatoms. A perfectly normal part of the cycle. They'll disappear as quickly as they arrived.

Oh okay great to know. How much longer should I let it cycle. I hear so manny different time periods

Until you have 0 ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. There's not really a time limit, it depends on your tank. Keep on adding that ammonia source!
