Question i have a 90 gal cichlid tank that i want to switch to salt i have a c530 marine land.canister would.this.be ok for this.i have a sump.that well.go on sooner then.later

For the time being a canister will work, I ran a 55g for over a year with a canister and it worked well. If you have a sump that would be ideal. Is the tank drilled or are you going with a hang on overflow? Personally I would look into drilling the tank for the drain at least, the return can hang over the back with a few 90 fittings. If you do plan to drill I would suggest doing it while you have the tank drained and just capping off the bulkhead fitting till you set the sump up.
 
Ok thanks i still have a lot of research to do. is cycling the same as freshwater and do u recommend any websites to read
