ok i think i understand this set up !! but my question is what is the pros to this ?? my guess is no power heads right just one big pump movin water is this correct??

pretty much. it is both a pro and a con. single point of failure. Pump goes and your entire tank is motionless unless you have other bits moving water.

Most that run closed loops also run a sump set up, so the tank would not be motionless. You get rid of the powerheads in the tank, you can actually have more intricate waterflow, with more points of current, without all run the water through any auxillary equipment you might need to as well, ie; chiller, UV, etc...
