Clownfish in a 8gal biocube

I was wondering if I can do a 8gal biocube saltwater tank with one or two clown fish...about how much will it cost?

Make sure you do your research...it all adds up.

Clown fish are around $30 each. If paired you can buy 2 for more money.

Our 6g tank was around $180...it's a nanocube.

Then you need your clean up crew, live sand, live rock, heater, fish food, etc.

All worth it though. It's a great hobby.

Please note they say a clown requires 20g per fish...we have 2 very small percs in our 6g and it's not recommended.

Good luck and enjoy

A clown needs at least a 20 gallon tank some people do it in a 10 gallon but to me that is like cutting your house in half and having everyone and everything you need in that 1/2 house. Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Ocellaris Clownfish

I did a 24 gallon with $500 to start with and now with $800 in it I am going to upgrade to a 28 gallon. I paid $200 for tank, stand and all the hardware I will need for the tank. It depends on what is available to you used.

If you are interested in some of the smaller gobies, they are a better choice IMO than clownfish for a Biocube 8.
