Color of skimmate question

Hi Gang
Usually the skimmate in my collection cup looks on the order of a darker ginger ale color I'm noticing it getting extremely dark brown and wanted to know if it was related to the diatom bloom going on now.

I guess it could be but dark brown or dark green is normal.

Keith, what brand of skimmer do you have? Dark is good. You are more then likely pulling out a dryer skimmate now so it is more concentrated, thus the darker color.

Thanks guys, It was a little different then what I've been seeing so I figured I would ask. I know one thing for sure either color it sure does stink.
