I added a bottle of trigger pods (large red copepods) to my tank and I was wondering the approximate time that it would take for the population to become large enough to support a red ruby dragonet.

Ive never had luck getting trigger pods to live very long let alone reproduce.

And depending on tank size and amount of live rock you may not ever have enough pods for a dragonet.

Its a 55g. It has the small white-ish color copepods from live rock. I have done some research and I made sure to have the rock setup so it's able to let the copepods reproduce without the dragonet able to get to them.

I doubt you will have enough rock in a 55 to support a dragonet. I had close to 120lbs of rock in my 65 and that wasn't enough even with a fuge. Lesson learned.

And even pouring pods in I would wait no less than 8 months for the population to stabilize.

No I dont have a sump or a hang on the side refugium. I have about 80 pounds of now live rock and about 50 pounds of live sand.
