Let me first say I apologize if this is the wrong forum and perhaps the moderators can move it to the appropriate location
I'm embarrassed to say that other than the NPS, non-photosynthetic, label, I had no idea what
LPS and
SPS stood for when it came to corals. I finally did a search and came across this site that lists the abbreviations, what they stand for and the general level of care. There is also a listing, which can be searched alphabetically by first letter, of a LOT of corals that gives specific care guidance.
There is a disclaimer on site that this is through experience and not necessarily through professional results but so far the care of the corals I have, that I looked at in the list, match what I have been told and have found in my own research.
