crush coral substrate

I would like mix a 20lb of this with the 60lbs of live sand in my tank. I like the look.
 
if u like the look go for it, some say the crushed coral can cause nitrates later. Just be sure the get a good clean up crew and some sand stirrers and u should be fine
 
the crushed coral will make it's way to the top and that's all you'll see eventually. the larger grains always work their way to the top.
 
Best tank I ever saw had a 4" substrate with the first 15-20% being crushed coral and the back 80-85% being live sand. This guy had moorish idols, leopard wrasses, and multibarred angelfish among others in his 500 gallon.

I'm tempted to try it in a 55 later on, though with much less finicky livestock haha.
