I am starting a 30 gal sw fowlr tank. Went to the lfs yesterday to get salt, water etc. The person in the store suggested I cycle my tank with damsels but I am new to the hobby so decided to get some advice from you guys. What should I use to cycle my tank? I dont have any live Rock
In the tank yet but I do have some live sand. Help this noob out lol

no. don't do that. it's very hard on the fish, and if they make it, they are super hard to catch to remove, and chances are, you aren't going to want them in the tank afterwards, due to their aggressive nature and the fact that there are many, more beautiful fish to choose from.
here, read this-
Cycle your salt tank

i would add the rock in before this process though. you can use dry, base rock or live rock from the lfs.

Okay thank you so much. I knew the guy just wanted to make a fish sale.
