So I'm just about to start cycling my tank and I wasn't sure how to run my lights during the process?

Mine just finished left the lights of the entire time. No reason to have them on.

If you don't have live plants, it doesn't really matter much. If you do, run them around 8 hours per day.

This is the saltwater reef section....... ;)

Lights out during the cycle...... there are going to be so many nutrients in the water, you will likely cause an algae bloom if you have them on.

If there is nothing in the tank and you are just adding an ammonia source then leave the lights off. There is no need to add light till you have something that needs it.

My bad.....was just in the current threads and wasn't paying attention. Whoops! hehe
