Hey guys

Im new to the forum and i just set up a 55 gallon reef tank. Its been set up for two weeks now and im experiencing a diatom bloom, I know it is "new tank syndrome" but i was wondering what my next steps should be. I currently have 10 hermit crabs and 10 astera snails in it. I had my local store test my water and they told me my levels were perfect. But i was wondering if i should get more snails and crabs or is what i have now ok for a clean up crew for a 55 gallon tank? Also on top of the diatoms bubbles are growing i was told and from researching that it is algae starting to grow and was wondering if i should let this happen or start to clean anything? I do not want to do a water change yet though cause i want my tank to complete the cycle. Any Help would be great.

Thanks

To cycle your tank you`ll need not to have any livestock in the tank.We have a great article in our SW articles section on cycling.
