DIY waterproof T8

I will be upgrading to a 125 gal in a few months and I'm trying to get everything planned out. I'm currently using 48" T12 with waterproof sockets. I am planning on switching to 48" T8. I am a huge DIY guy and I think that I can find a way to do this. I have a bunch of standard T5 sockets but I need to find a way to waterproof them. Has anybody else figured this out yet?

I just have the VHO`s with the waterproof caps on my 125 reef.

It sounds like that's what I'm going to do. I'll just order some. Maybe if nobody else has figured out how to DIY it there is a good reason.
