I am moving my 80 gln tank into a 210 gln and plan on using the LR & LS from the 80. Since this will not be enough sand to give me at least a 3" DSB, I was wondering if the new tank will have to cycle again? I have 120# of LR and can not remember how much LS but it gives me a 3 1/2 to 4 " base in my 80 gln.

The new tank should not have to cycle like the first tank did BUT if you get more live rock for the 210 make sure you cure it before you put it in the tank as adding alot of uncured rock to an established tank can cause a very undesirable cycle period.

Put the existing sand on top of some dead sand to build up your depth.
