THat guy says NEVER add gobys or sand sifting aninmals...
Can you add them later in the cycle?
A tank with no gobies? NOT COOL :(

Thats a general suggestion. The size of the tank and the size of the sand bed will have alot to do with how a goby or any other sand sifter will affect the sand bed itself.

A small tank with a goby or two could in effect cause your sand bed to become a baren wasteland of just microsopic bactera for life because the goby's would have effectiflly eleminated all the other forms of life that live in the sand bed.

Now a larger tank with 1 or 2 gobyies will be much better off.

Do gobies eat the critters in the sand? If yes, what is the minimum size tank for a goby? Are there any other methods to feed them?

Sand sifting gobies will eat for the most part the critters in the sand bed for their diet. This holds for sand sifting starfish, horseshoe crabs or just about anything else who spends the majority of their existance on the sand bed.
