Filter Media?

Is it wise to change out the filter media that is in the used Canister filter I got with my tank set up?
I am starting fresh & will have live sand & rock in, hopefully tomorrow.

Just wondered if I should pick up new carbon, filters, etc?

I would switch it all out, since you are cycling from scratch.
