Fishless cycle

How much pure ammonia should I out into my tank to speed up the cycle time doing a fish less cycle here ?

I just added what I thought to be a little "splash" to my 29 gallon but it ended up being 8ppm worth!! There's not really a set quantity. It depends on your tank size and what ammonia you are using. Start with a VERY SMALL amount and then test for ammo after a half hour.

My tank cycled in 3 weeks with ace brand janitorial strength ammonia.

Using a syringe makes it easy to dose your tank. Three weeks is not the average time it takes, usually 4-8 weeks. Patience is helpful. And you have time to research all he fish you are interested in. Good luck!

I overdosed mine so high that the ammonia after a 50 percent water change was still off my api test kit chart. So it was high. Let it sit and u may in the end get over 160 ppm of nitrates like mine but my biological filtration is so good because of it. Think of it like this. It may take alittle longer to cycle but ur going to have more bacteria in ur tank afterwards because they had more ammonia to eat. Some may disagree with me but u say leave it that high.
