quick synopsis, i have a 20 gal SW tank with a 10 gal sump.
1" PVC overflow to sump. Quiet 1200 in the sump back to the DT.

what is a good float switch to put on the DT in case the overflow gets clogged?
i always plan for worst case scenario so i assume this will happen at least once. I've seen many float switches but has anyone else done this, if so, what switch do they use. i want the float switch to control the return pump.
in case a baffle gives way in the sump and the water from the refugium also gets transfered to the DT. so if the water raises too high in DT, the switch turns off the return pump.

scenario #2:
my sump is baffled so i will only use up the water that is in the return section of my sump. the issue is i want to shut off the pump when it goes dry so i do not burn it out.

any ideas would be much appreciated.
thanks again

I have a couple of float switches from AutoTopoff.com that work very well. They are competitively priced. Bulk Reef Supply also sells float switches.

great, that's exactly what i needed.
time to place an order!

i got 2, one for tank and one for sump.
i did not install the tank yet, but the sump is finished and working good.
if water level gets too low, the float switch will shut down the return pump
