[ not sure if this should be in the Liverocks.com forum, but here goes... ]

Hi -- I've got a 55 gal tank that in the midst of cycling now that I've added about 120# of LR from Liverock.com. They recommended using the following:

SeaChem Reef Advantage Cacium
SeaChem Reef Builder
SeaChem Reef Iodide

I really don't have allegiance to SeaChem (or any brand, yet), so I'd like your thoughts on pros and cons of it vs. other brands. My LFS doesn't normally stock this brand, and I thought there might be a less-expensive alternative on-line as well.

Thanks.
Matt

I would skip Iodide.
I use calcium hydroxide (kalkwaser) to replensish Ca and balance Alk (cheap). It's easy to do if you have a sump. Two part additives like B-ionic are 'sposed to be good.
