It would probably be a good idea to get an extra power head. The better the flow, the healthier your tank will be. The spin stream adapter will not increase flow.
You can buy the API saltwater master test kit, and most of the tests I could trust, except for the calcium test. That I would buy separately. Salifert makes a better kit for that.

It could possibly be a diatom bloom. It's hard to tell for sure with the picture. If so, it's a normal thing to see in a new tank. it will go away as fast as it came.
