Help with boyu TL450

Hope this picture attaches. Can anyone help by telling me whether this inlet pipe should be hanging completely out of tank to air or sitting in the water? The instructions with the boyu tank are AWFUL!! I've had conflicting advice from two shop assistants . Sigh!!

Keep it out. That's your air intake. Twist the cap a little or take it off depending on how you want the air to flow. Mine is about 3/4 off so I have good air flow + good pressure for water flow.

+1. Thats simply an air regulator. If you take it off and plug it with your thumb youll notice the skimmer will surge up real bad.. But if you let go itll die down.. Use it to fine tune the skimmer
