how fast can i cycle?

i have always gotten handed-down tank/equipment so i never properly cycle a tank before. now that i'm going to start a new 40B reef tank, i was wondering how fast a 40B can be cycled if all i'm using is maybe 15lb of dry rock and using 10lb of live rock from my existing tank as seeding? furthermore, i am thinking about going bare bottom on this one. i do have a reef test kit

you'll probably see anywhere from 4 to 6 week cycle,
don't forget your ammonia source to kick start the cycle
