How to keep amonia down?

Ok, update time. I did a 50% water change last night, my nitrates were still holding at 30 ppm. Now they are down to 15, and ammonia is about 15-20 ppm. Should I add more bio spira or just wait?

20ppm is quite toxic.

I'm retesting, I was supposed to wait 5 min. It was 15 min. before I checked it.

Considering that your scale only goes to 8, I suspect the 15-20 was an error

Yeah sorry, it was .15 - .20 but today it is 0. Nitrates are down to 10 and ph was 8.2. I think I'm finally getting the hang of this. You know I started this tank in January and I just kinda jumped in head first. Been having a blast ever since.
