Sharp stainless steel scissors will work. You would be amazed at the fragging tools you can get at a medical store

I agree with the fragging advice.  Just make it a clean cut and rubberband it to a rock or plug. It will attach pretty darn quickly too. lol
As far as the koran, aren't they an expert only fish? As in they are difficult to keep? Beautiful fish but not sure how easy it is to feed and keep longterm.

I notice that liveaquaria.com has changed their minimum tank requirements for most of the large angels in the last 6 months.

Looks awesome! Try to get the price down to 400-500. You can tell them that you also need to get a stand which would cost you another 500.
