While I was looking at some tangs I noticed some people say a 6 foot tank is the best tank while others say you need a certain amount of volume( e.g. 180 gallon), now i know a 180 is 6 foot, my question is does it have to be a 180 or can it be just any 6 foot tank? I ask in reference to blue tangs.

It's length, they need the swimming room, not necessarily the volume. Although the more volume the better.

Yes i agree ^

A 6 foot tank is a must. That being said you cant just hve a 6 foot tank that is 5 inches tall :) it still needs to be pretty wide and decently tall. Get a 180, thats perfect for tangs

That's what I thought. I was looking at 150s and 180s and was curious. I would like a tang but wanted to make sure I had the proper setup to keep it happy. Thanks guys

you can keep a lot of the tangs in a 125 and not worry. but volume is always a good thing.
