I have my blues turn on at 9am, whites at 10 am. The whites go off at 8pm and the blues go off at 9pm.

Hope that helps.

Wow!! You don't find that too much algae is produced with your whites being on for that long??

Actually, I have no algae pretty much. I have a seahare and a lawnmower blenny so maybe they help out.

My times seem to be about the average give or take an hour.

Do you have any corals? I believe corals need the white light as well but until then I guess do what you like.

You can get white bulbs that have a blue "hue" such as ATI's aquablue specials, I run them as my whites and 460 actinics for the really blue blue

I have VHO`s and mine come on at 10A and go off at 9P. As said above 10 - 12 hours a day is usually the standard.
