Hello I just bought a new light with day and night mode. Wondering how long I can leave it on and for it to be okay? Was wondering if leaving the day mode on while light out and night mode when dark out is okay or will 24 hours of the light being on not be good? Thank you

Definitely don't want 24 hours of light. I'd shoot for 10-12 hours on and 12 hours off.

What's the real point of the night mode then?

Some people like to have a 'shimmer' over the tank at night. I thought it was something that had to be had at one point, but it is totally worthless. Lights out should simply mean that.
