Do you think that two 250 watt mh is to much?? On a 55 gallon tank.

If not what would you recommend for bulbs?? 6500k or 10k.

This tank is going to be a reef Tank ..

Thanks for the input Dewey

No not at all. I have a 250w pendant over my 40 gallon. You are fine.

If anything, since the 55 is rather long, you may even need two bulbs depending on how you are going to install them (i.e. pendant or canopy).

Two 250's would cover the tank better....as to the color temperature...are you going to be any fluorescents to supplement blue (actinics). The lower the kelvin, the warmer (yellower) the color. I know "yellower" isn't a real word lol. The higher the k the more blue the color will appear. If you aren't going with actinic supplementation you might want to go for 20K bulbs.

I personally have 2x250 10k MH bulbs on my 55gal tank.. I love it.. Alot of light but very nice.. I would think that you would like it alot..
