Live sand put over crushed coral?

I want to make a predator tank in my 155 gallon bow front tank. I am planing on getting a bamboo shark or a cat shark one of those. But they require a sand bottom so what i need to know is if i can put sand over the coral and have no problems?

Both need a 300 to 360 gallon aquarium and are available to experts only according to Liveaquaria. If you put sand over CC the sand will eventually work its way to the bottom and the CC will be on the top.

Alright thanks i actually change my mind anyway about the shark and i think I'm going to do a simple reef tank instead
