My Remora Pro came in the mail today. :D

When I took the Mag Drive 3 powerhead out of the box, I noticed that the pump cover was held in place by four metal screws. Should I switch those out for plastic screws? Metal in a saltwater tank is generally a bad thing, right?

The mag 3 pumps are made for submerged usage and therefore are either coated to remain rust free or will be something like aluminum i would expect. I've never heard of a rust problem on them.

They will most likely be stainless steel. You don't need to replace them. If you want peace of mind, seal them over with aquarium safe silicone.

Cheers
Steve

Here is a pic of my mag 3 thats been in sw for a little over 1 year. Only thing happening to the heads is they are getting covered with coraline :D

i'd be surprised if they are stainless steel, cause it still finds a way to rust.
Stainless steel will still rust, depends on the grade
