making a nem move?

So I went to the LFS get a maxi mini I wanted, and go figure, we couldn't get it to let go of the PVC it attached to. Tried gently picking at its foot with a finger nail, touching ice to it, held out of water for 30 minutes, nothing worked.

What is the trick to getting one to let go?

Point a powerhead at it and it may let go after some time as it tries to move away. I wouldn't pick at it...damage that foot and you buy yourself a soon to be dead anemone.
