Aquarium Advice Addict
Wow. My ammonia in my 40g went thru the roof. Started cycling with shrimp, then added 40 lbs of rock with plenty of die-off.
Best I think happened was as follows:the ammonia went down, maybe from .7 or so, I borrowed a powerhead for the tank from my main. OK, so a week later the ammonia zeroed. Nitrites way up. 5 days later, ammonia and nitrites both a zero. So I take the power head and move it aroud the tank to get soem gunk off the rocks. I look dwon and see this margarita snail.
Maybe it was in the powerhead all along.
Anyway, that whole thing just kinda amazed me.
