what is the minimum size aquarium for a nano reef? i do have a 10 gallon laying around and a 30 gallon that has all of my fish in it bc my 55 is leaking :( but this tank would be invertibrates and crustaceans and possibly 2 tiny clowns or some other small fish. any problems i might run into? how would i go about filtration? lighting?

or should i just set the 55 gallon for a reef? i do have the necessities to build a sump.

Depending on the footprint of the tank, I probably wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 10 gallon with two clowns. You can run into territory issues if they feel cramped.

Lighting depends on what you want to do with the tank. What kind of corals do you want to keep? Live rock & sand takes care of most of the 'filtration', but you might consider a protein skimmer. The HOB ones from AquaC are pretty good.
