mixing salt water

I need to do a water change and I am wondering if the saltwater needs to sit for awhile or can I just add it to the tank. any info or hints would help, thank you in advance.

Let it mix for a while. I put an airstone or an small poweread in the mixing bucket to aerate it. Also, try to keep it as close to the tank temperature as possible to avid shocking the tank inhabitants.

I let mine sit and mix for 48 hrs. I'd do 24 hours minimum. Not only does the salt need to mix with the water to dissolve, but from what I understand there are also chemical reactions that take place with the salt and water. And you need time for that to settle down.

Yes, I let my mix sit with a heater and a powerhead for 24-48 hours before use. It also gives pH to adjust as well.
