I have about 40lbs of live rock in my 55 gallon tank and I was wondering if I would need more. Also I don't think my fish have enough cover in the rocks for night what are your thoughts on all of this ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1421507692.383605.jpg

If you don't think there's enough rock then by all means add more :) The 1lb per gallon is just a guideline to be sure that there is enough room for BB in the tank. Density of the rock also makes a difference, 55lb of reef saver rock is much much less rock than 55lb of pukani.

I would say the limit is 2.5lb - 3lb per gallon.

Ok thanks

First, I'd ditch the bubbler because it will splash bubbles everywhere and cause salt creep.

Next, I would build one rock pile larger than the other and move the space between the rocks more to the side.
