Except for this wierd thing in between them.

Based on your description I'm thinking the strings are a result of Vermetid snails. IMO they are a pest and should be removed or killed.

Alk may be off. Or they are placed too high in the tank maybe.

What other issues might I run into bc of low alk? Also if I dose ASAP to acceptable lvls you think this guy is save-able?

Alk is requires to test regardless of type of coral.

Are you doing regular water changes with a reef grade salt?

If alk is off and you get it back in range then yes it can bounce back.

Tested it twice
Alk test out at 8.9 dkh or 3.19meq/l

Still don't have a calcium test....
Should I raise it?

I played roulette just FYI... I actually did the standard dose according to the label. And waited 2 hours to test alk

Your alk is fine. Don't dose anything.

What is your current stock and what all are you using for filtration? Any filter media?

I have
1 dwarf flame angel

6 small blu leg hermit crabs
1 emerald crab
3 small zoa colonies
And a single ricordea mushroom
And two colonies of the anthelia/Xenia stuff

About 36lbs of live rock
I think it was 35-40 lbs of live sand

The stock protien skimmer that came with my Red Sea max 130
I use a magnum 350 with the flow turned way down as a media canister
Using phosphate and nitrate media

It's possible you have too clean of a tank for the Xenia and such. They like a little more of a dirtier tank than lps and sps corals. Very low bioload along with Weekly water changes and the media are likely stripping all nutrients from the tank.
