Hey everyone i currently have a 90 gallon setup and im rehoming my cichlids because i really wanna switch to saltwater is it possible and what do i need to look into as im new to this for filtration it has the 175 api external canister

Lots of Sw people do not like the canister filter for SW tanks as said mostly because of it ending up as a Nitrate trap, harder or rather more work to clean. I have only had HOB's on 37G and smaller tanks.

HOB = Hang on back.

Yes filter which hangs on the back of the tank.

I just transferred my cichlids to my 125 gallon tank from my 55 gallon tank and I just cleaned everything with warm water and changed the media and everything in my 55 gallon tank about a month or so ago and everything in my saltwater is doing good
